Install Handheld Companion
Use the official all-in-one installer. It packages the application and the dependencies expected by the current public build.
Download the release
Get the current .exe from the official GitHub Releases page or the download page on this site.
Run as administrator
Approve the Windows elevation prompt so the installer can deploy the services and drivers needed for controller handling.
Restart when requested
A restart gives controller and filter drivers a clean first load. Reconnect external controllers after Windows returns.
Open Handheld Companion
Confirm that the service is running and that your physical controller appears before creating game profiles.
Handheld Companion evolves quickly. Device behavior can vary by Windows build, OEM firmware and other controller software. Check current release notes when a control differs from this guide.
